First Day of School - 2007
Overall the day went good. The boys really like their teacher (of course it was the first day) - ask me next week or month and it might have changed. Olivia did great going into her class. I thought she would grab my leg and start crying like she does at church, but she walked right in and puckered her lips for a smooch and said good-by. No tears. No complaining. Wish I could have said the same for me. I did shed a couple tears when out of her sight. I just can't believe she is already in school. Life flies by - it really does. When I find myself wishing for time alone or that they would go to their rooms for some peace and quiet - I have to remind myself that I will be in my rocking chair doing my crossword with no noise before I know it, and I will probably be so bored - longing for the noise of laughter, crying, whining, rough-housing - the noise of life!

Date Night

Luke and I went and saw Bourne Ultimatum the other day and I wanted to play movie critic for just a minute. I don't expect you to base your decision on seeing the movie from my input - just wanted to blog about something different for once. Ok - onto the movie - I will say first that Luke really enjoyed it, had nothing but positive things to say about it. And now onto me, the female. I did like the movie somewhat, but was a wee bit dissapointed in the lack of dialogue and romance (NOT a chic-flick). I felt like I needed a nap when we left the theater b/c it was non-stop action. I was wiped out after watching Jason Bourne run from the bad guys for 2 1.2 hours. I just want the girls out there to know that this is action-packed, lacking relationships and dialogue and that you definitely earn a chick flick after this one!

Beach Pictures
I think my kids could live on the beach. They all loved the sand and the water and all the creatures that live in both. I, on the other hand was very sick of having sand on every inch of my body and in everything I own. At night we grilled out and watched movies - after trying to catch those ghost crabs that run around after the sun sets - that was hilarious! Lane loved being able to drive us around in the golf cart. Scared the wee-ber-jeebers out of me!!! On the way home we stopped at Moody Gardens to see more marine animals at the aquarium. I was so glad that we didn't listen to the weather man and went ahead and went. Definitely well worth it.
