Unka Chad's visit

My brother, Chad came and visited us for the weekend. He had never been to B'ville so he came up to see what small town life is like. We had a great time and I am so glad he came up to see us. Made for a fun weekend! Wish he would have brought his precious girls with him!!

Everyone at church that I introduced him to said you could tell we were siblings.

He asked me to take these. Plain crazy w/o a shy bone in his body- I'm sure he will expect for these to be on the blog ;-) Love ya Chad!

Missy Mae

The hair kinda ruins the picture - but, oh well. Still a beauty to me.

He landed it!

We were setting up the trampoline and allowed the boys to jump off the house one time before the net went up. I cringed and held my breath and thought about the anti-trampoline article in my dr.'s office. I have such a hard time finding that fine-line between being too overprotective and allowing stunts that could cause paralysis. Hmmmm...

He never lets go

This song by Matt Redman really blessed me today - I hope it blesses you.

Lyrics:
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
Your perfect love is casting out fear
And even when I’m caught in the middle of the storms of this life
I won’t turn back I know You are near
And I will fear no evil
For my God is with me
And if my God is with me
Whom then shall I fear? Whom then shall I fear?
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go Lord, You never let go of me
And I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
A glorious light beyond all compare
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
We’ll live to know You here on the earth
Yes, I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
Still I will praise You, still I will praise You

OWU Basketball

This past wknd we were given tickets by our sweet friends Curtis & Brennan to go to the OWU basketball games. We had so much fun Friday night that we went back Saturday night. They won the first night and lost the second. I was amazed at how fast and aggressive they are! Made it fun to watch ;-).

My sweetie

The airhead kept Ryder still for a total of 37 seconds. It was a nice 37 seconds.

Very upclose picture of us that Ryder took

Little late Christmas pics from Nashville

When we were in Nashville at Christmas we went downtown one day to the War Museum with my sister-in-law, Helen and her girls. Luke's grandfather had a big part in the bust that was put into the museum. Pretty cool.

The kids had some fun ;-) Glad nobody was around

This is what my boys were doing when the girls were sitting so nicely posing for pictures. Thankfully no cracked skulls that day.

Notice Lane wearing shorts when it was like 15 degrees!

Papaw will love this picture (and look at that hair on Ryder - wow. )

This is what happened at the girl cousin's house. Ryder really enjoyed it.

Senior

I took pictures of this senior the other day. He really was a ton of fun to take pictures of! Here are some of the fun ones.

One Year

It was one year ago today that my Aunt Carolyn went to heaven. I still miss her terribly. I spent the day fervently praying for my mom (her twin) and my cousin Kim (her only child). I can't even imagine how badly they are hurting today.
My Aunt was always full of life. Full of laughter. She was always smiling. She left something so wonderful - she left a part of her in my cousin Kim. Kim is one of the strongest people I know. She is always encouraging and supportive and always caring about others more than herself. Carolyn would be so proud of her! I know that my Aunt is in heaven with her earthly father and heavenly Father. She isn't coughing. She isn't suffering anymore.

Living in the dark ages.

I was talking on our one and only working phone yesterday when the thought occured to me that we might be the only home left in America to not have a cordless phone. Well, let me rephrase that - we have 3 cordless phones, but in-between them being used as the 2 yr old's toy, never being put back on the charger, and playing hide & seek we are stuck using our one ancient phone. So - if you call and I have to cut our conversation short it's b/c it's really hard to keep your eye on the kiddos when you aren't portable. and my kids know it. I can just hear them saying "no - let's wait to jump off the roof until mom gets on the phone"

The life of a 9 year old

Actually, this is a rare sight. My 9 yr. old is usually coming home from school, and 3 minutes later (b/c that's usually how long it takes him to do this homework) he is out the door playing until dark (I am a VERY protective mother and watch my kids outside, just in case some creepo is reading this. I do own a shotgun and WILL use it gladly to protect my kids! ;-)
Anyways, I would much rather have my kids outside exploring than sitting around drinking soda and playing gameboy like I fear a majority of the kids are doing nowadays (Oh- I sound old!). If my kids (yes - even Olivia) aren't filthy with mud, paint, etc. by the end of the day they are probably ill.

Until next year...

I can't believe Christmas is already over. Come back - I need more time off. and more sweets.

Yea - a notepad!!!

Some of you already know what a nerd I am when it comes to
organization and that sort of thing.
The other day Luke walked into the living room with a pen and notepad. I almost wet my pants I was so excited. Goals... Organizing To Do's... Resolutions? I love lists! But - when I asked (like a 5 year old getting ready to make a Christmas list) what we were going to spend the evening doing Luke says very solemnly (sp?) -
"I'm making a grocery list".
UGH! There went all the excitement. I love lists, but NOT grocery lists. Anything having to do with Walmart puts me in a sour mood. Luke definitely doesn't share my passion for lists and goal setting. I really like to write to do lists down - no, better yet - type it on Word and I like to post it where I see it everyday and I love to check it off when done. So - I decided that some things are better done alone. I am going to make a few lists over the next few days and probably share. Definite nerd.

Captured... Again!

Since the last posting the snake has escaped TWICE! And guess who has found him both times? - Yep - me. Of course I screamed for Cam who captured him and put him back in his cage. The "guard" in the cage was my little touch. Not sure how much it will help ;-)

Feelin' the love

I took some pictures of a friend and her son for her to give to her husband for Christmas (I hope she already has - or he doesn't see this post!). This was my fave.
